Strict security measures made for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

KARACHI: Strict security arrangements have been made for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

As part of the arrangements mobile phone services are expected to remain shut in Quetta, Rawalpindi and Peshawar on Tuesday. A ban will also be enforced on pillion riding in Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Sindh. A recommendation has been made to prohibit pillion riding in Dera Ismail Khan.

There will be strict security along the procession routes and Army and Rangers will be on stand-by in Rawalpindi. In Karachi, the processions will be monitored by CCTV cameras and security will be provided by Rangers and police. Fool-proof security will also be in place in Lahore. In Quetta, over 2,000 personnel of the police and FC will be deployed and the route of the procession will be monitored by CCTV cameras.

A public holiday will be observed in Pakistan on Tuesday and all government, semi-government offices, bazaars and shopping malls will remain closed.
