ISLAMABAD: Ahmed Raza Kasuri, one of the firebrand counsels of beleaguered former president, Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, Thursday assaulted a journalist with insults like 'Shame on you' and 'you are an Indian' only because the fumed lawyer had no answer to the question he was asked.
"You sound like an Indian journalist. Shame on you. Shame on you...You are one of the sold-outs. You practice envelope-journalism (manipulating news for money) ", said the wrathful juror outside the special court that is conducting the former dictator's treason trial.
Kasuri, who is famous for his courtroom theatrics, threw the tantrum after a local journalist shot a burning question at him.
"Your question makes you look like you are being paid by someone. You seem to be a paid person. Now we will have to deal with you as well.
You are undermining Pakistan’s commando general?" an enraged Kasuri said.
Jumping in to help Kasuri, Musharraf's supporters chorused "Shame on you".
The question asked by the Pakistani journalist was not audible but made Kasuri very angry.
He also accused some judges and media of being biased with regards to Musharraf's trial.
The former military ruler, Musharraf, has not yet appeared in any hearing of the special court formed to try him on charges of high treason for declaring a state of emergency in Pakistan on November 3, 2007.
He is under treatment in Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) after developing heart problems while on his way to the court on January 2.
